I love to make my clients feel comfortable from the moment they walk into my salon, and I work hard to make sure their natural beauty shines through, no matter what treatment they are receiving.
What is a Lash Lift?
A lash lift is a semi-permanent process where your natural lashes will be curled and lifted, similar to the effect of an eyelash curler but without the daily hassle. It’s similar to a perm but for your lashes, providing your lashes with a luscious curl from the base of the lash to the top that will last you 6-8 weeks. The top-of-the-line Elleebana lash lift works hard to provide the curl while still being natural and gentle enough for use around the delicate skin of your eyes.
The Lash Lifting Process
Lash Preparation
While a lash lift service may look different from one salon to another, I can only speak to the lash lift process at Gameela Skin. I’ll begin your lash lift by cleansing the area around the eyes to remove any dirt, excess makeup, or stray pieces of hair, and prepare the lashes. I’ll take special care to make sure your lashes are clear of any makeup or oils that could disrupt the lifting process.
Application of Gel Pads
Once the lashes and area around your eyes have been prepared, I’ll apply soothing gel pads so we can protect your lower lashes during the lash lift, {enhancing the overall experience}.
Fit Lashes to Silicone Rod
I’ll then fit your eyelashes for the appropriate size silicone rod, which is dependent on the length of your lashes. This rod will be used to gently shape the lashes into the curl. I will then apply a gentle glue and brush the lashes over the silicone rod, making sure they are lying straight over the rod and coming directly up from the follicle.
Application of Solution
Once the lashes are settled in position, I will apply the first solution to the lashes. This solution will sit on the lashes for about three to four minutes, depending on the thickness of your eyelashes. Once this solution has been set, I will remove it and follow it with a second solution for the same amount of time. These solutions serve to semi-permanently curl the lashes, resulting in the desired final look.
Solution Removal
Once the lash solutions have both been set for the necessary amount of time, depending on the thickness of your lashes, I’ll remove any excess solution and gently remove the lashes from the silicone rod. If you are only getting a lash lift service, this will be the end of your treatment. However, I recommend considering a lash tint along with your lash lift to achieve the best results from the treatment.
Lash Tint
A lash tint is the perfect partner to a lash lift. A lash lift will accentuate the curl of your natural lashes, and a lash tint will darken the lashes for a more dramatic look, resulting in luscious lashes around the clock. If you decide to add a tint to your lash lifting treatment, we will remove the silicone rod and the under eye gels and apply the lash tinting solution that compliments your skin tone and eye color.
Choosing a Lash Lift over Lash Extensions
If you’re looking for a solution to avoid mascara without giving up luscious lashes, you’ve probably come across the debate between lash lifts and lash extensions. While I may be biased, I can be impartial when it comes to breaking down the difference between these two lash treatments.
Maintenance: With proper care, lash lift results can last anywhere from 6-8 weeks, while eyelash extensions only last about 3-4 weeks. A lash lift offers an additional month of luscious lashes before you’ll need to return to the salon for a treatment.
Natural Appearance: I will always support a treatment that accentuates natural beauty, and lash lifts definitely fit the bill. A lash lift provides a much more natural look than lash extensions.
Application Time: Lash lift treatments are a much quicker treatment, taking about 45 minutes. Applying lash extensions can take up to two hours to complete.
Safe and Clean Products: The solutions used during a lash lift are designed to be gentle on the eyes. At Gameela Skin, we use products that are completely formaldehyde free and have the added benefit of conditioning your lashes throughout the process.
Minimal Down Time: After a lash lift, I recommend avoiding getting your lashes wet for about 24-hours. Other than that, your routine can carry on as normal. With lash extensions, you generally need to adjust your skincare routine for a prolonged period of time to account for the extensions.
Elleebana Lash Lift: what to expect
How much is a lash lift in Scottsdale?
At Gameela Skin, the cost for a lash lift treatment is $85. I recommend adding a lash tint to your treatment to enhance your results and fully accentuate your natural lashes. The lash tinting treatment starts at $45, totaling $130 for the combined service.
How long does a lash lift treatment take?
The entire lash lifting treatment is about 45 minutes. For thicker eyelashes and treatments that include lash tinting, the appointment will be about an hour long. There will be no downtime following your lash lift appointment other than following our recommended lash lift aftercare instructions.
Are There Side Effects of a Lash Lift?
While it is possible to have minor irritations to the lash lift solution, there are generally very minimal side effects of a lash lift. The Elleebana lash lift solutions are natural and gentle enough to be used on the delicate skin surrounding the eye, meaning that even for those with the most sensitive skin, irritation will be rare. I will consult with each client prior to their treatment about any possible allergies or sensitivities to ensure minimal irritation. In the event of irritation or an allergic reaction, reach out to your esthetician to discuss a solution.
Will a Lash Lift Damage my Lashes?
No! We ensure proper setting time for each client based on their own individual lashes.
How to prepare for a lash lift treatment?
Before you come in for your treatment, please make sure you have no eye makeup or mascara on. If you typically wear false eyelashes, please make sure those are removed and the lashes are free from any glue or debris. If you use latisse or any lash serums, please stop use for 24-48 hours prior to your appointment. If you wear contact lenses, please make sure they are removed prior to your appointment.
How long does a lash lift treatment last?
Lash lifts typically lasts between 6-8 weeks; some clients have experienced longer lasting results. Following before and aftercare instructions will affect the results of your lift. For ongoing results, we recommend scheduling lash lifts about every 8 weeks from your previous treatment.
What are the benefits of a lash lift treatment?
A lash lift will give you the opportunity to accentuate your natural beauty with luscious, curled lashes minus the hassle of mascara or false eyelashes. It will save you time in the morning while still leaving you with your desired look.
Lash Lift Aftercare Recommendations
Lash lifts are meant to make your beauty routine low maintenance, and my aftercare recommendations are no different! I recommend that you keep your lashes dry for at least 24 hours post-treatment. Avoid the shower, washing your face, and even standing over a steamy stove. This avoids diminishing the power of the semi-permanent solutions, which are still setting for the first 24 hours.
I also recommend avoiding application of any makeup products that, similar to water, can mess with the solution in the first 24 hours post lash lift. If you really want to lengthen your lash lift, you can start using a lash serum post-treatment. Lash serums work to continue conditioning your lifted lashes, resulting in stronger lashes and even lengthening the lifetime of your lift.
If you can, I recommend sleeping on your back with a lash lift. Smushing your face into a pillow can mess with the curl pattern of your lashes and result in a skewed lift. Same thing goes for a sleeping mask—avoid anything that will smush or bend your lashes in an unnatural way.
