Lash Tint in Scottsdale
One thing about me is that I love a beauty treatment that makes the morning a little bit easier! A 30-minute treatment to make the next 4 weeks filled with luscious lashes? Sign me up! Lash tints are the perfect option for my girls with lighter lashes or for anyone who wants to skip out on their morning mascara application.
Eyelash tinting is a semi-permanent coloring of the lashes, using safe and natural dye to color your lashes and give them a darker look. A lash tint gives your lashes a more luscious and darker appearance. For my clients with blonde or lighter colored lashes, the lash tint will create a dramatic, darkened effect. If you have darker lashes, the effect will not be as dramatic but will look similar to wearing black mascara over your lashes.
At Gameela Skin, I like to keep the lash tinting process as short and sweet as possible. I love to make my clients comfortable the second they walk in the salon and from there the process will look something like this:
I’ll begin by making sure I understand exactly what you’re looking for from your lash tint. I’ll take a look at your skin to match and select the perfect tint color that will compliment your skin tone and accentuate your eyes. This step is SO important to enhance your natural beauty.
As I do with all my treatments, I’ll prep the skin by cleansing the area surrounding your eyes, gently removing any dead skin cells, makeup, or loose hairs. I’ll then apply a barrier around your eye to protect the area and avoid any possible stains from the tint.
Once your skin is prepared and the barrier is applied, I’ll mix the lash tint and make sure it matches the color we discussed. I’ll apply the tint directly to your lashes. The tint will sit for about 10 minutes to let it set.
Once the dye has set on the lashes, I’ll remove the dye using a damp cotton pad. I’ll make sure to gently clean the lashes, ensuring they are clean and looking luscious post-tint!
At Gameela Skin, the cost for a lash tint treatment is $45. Many of my clients choose to add a lash lift treatment to their lash tint. Lash lifts start at $85, making the combined lash treatment $130. The lash lift and tint work well together, helping to darken the lashes with the tint and provide a natural curl and volumize the lashes with the lift.
Lash tinting typically lasts about 4 weeks. While the dye is permanent, the same way your roots grow out after a highlight, your lashes will begin to grow in and appear their lighter, natural color after about 4 weeks. You can help lengthen the lifetime of your lash tint by keeping them dry for the first 24 hours post-tint and following aftercare tips.
The lash tint is a quick process; I will usually have you in and out of the salon in 30 minutes or less. If you’re looking to spend a little more time in the chair, you can always add on another service for some extra self care. If you choose to get a lash lift done at the same time as the tint, it will usually take around an hour.
Lash tinting is a great low-maintenance alternative to mascara that will allow you to have luscious, darkened lashes without the smudging or pesky removal process. It also provides a more natural look as opposed to lash extensions, which may look more similar to falsies. I love the time-saving aspect of not having to apply or remove mascara every day.
Bonus points for sensitive skin girls: thanks to the natural and gentle ingredients in my lash tinting dye, if you’re sensitive to makeup products, this could be a great alternative for you.
Yes! Eyelash tinting, when done using high quality products by a professional, is a perfectly safe procedure. At Gameela Skin, I make sure to use the highest quality products that will be gentle on the lashes and surrounding skin.
While they are rare, there can be potential side effects from lash tints, such as possible eye irritation and allergic reactions. Prior to your appointment, I’ll make sure to take note of any allergies or irritants so we can avoid any irritated skin. If you experience any redness, puffiness, or irritation post-lash tint, notify Nancy with Gameela Skin immediately so we can figure out the best course of action.
Lash tint aftercare is an important part of the process, so you can make sure your lashes will stay tinted as long as possible. For the first 24 hours post-tint, I recommend keeping your lashes completely dry. This means no steamy showers, no washing your face, and definitely no mascara. For the first 48 hours post-tint, avoid using any makeup remover, as it can strip the tint from the lashes. I also recommend all clients {if possible} sleep on their back for the first few nights post treatment to avoid any rubbing of the dye as it fully sets into the lashes.
In general, throughout the lifetime of the tint, I recommend avoiding vigorous rubbing or playing with the lashes. After the first few days, you can go back to regularly wearing makeup and washing your face, but try to be a bit gentle when working around the lashes for the best results.
